The theme is played during the climactic duel between Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi; during use, Darth Sidious and Yoda also duel. At the beginning of the battle, a cue titled "Heroes Collide" ("Anakin vs. Obi-Wan" on the original soundtrack) is heard.
The album had four alternate covers, each sold separately, that featured Anakin and Padme, Jango Fett, Yoda, and the theatrical poster art by Drew Struzan. For a limited time, a WAL-MART retail exclusive version of the CD had bonus enhanced multimedia CD-ROM content when inserted into a computer featuring a link to an exclusive PC screensaver.
The original release of the soundtrack only contained one disc. This is also the same track listing for Walt Disney Records' 2018 reissue. As Williams had done on his earlier releases for Star Wars soundtracks, the score is arranged with a greater emphasis on musical flow for a quality album listening experience rather than in order of the movie's chronology.

Obi-Wan is now a Jedi Master, a member of the Jedi Council, and a general. Obi-Wan and Anakin embark on a rescue mission to save the kidnapped Chancellor Palpatine from the cyborg Separatist commander General Grievous. Dooku duels the Jedi once again, knocking Obi-Wan unconscious. Anakin then defeats Dooku and executes him on Palpatine's orders.
The duel between Obi-Wan and Anakin is mostly similar to, albeit shorter than, that of the movie. The narration focuses mostly on Anakin and Obi-Wan's respective inner monologues. There are slight variations, however: the section where Anakin manually chokes Obi-Wan is one that is notably different.
