Former St. Cloud State athlete Mary Ahlin won the NCAA Division II titles in women's one- and three-meter diving in 1998 and 1999, while Sarah Loquai won the NCAA Division II women's one-meter diving in 1997. MANKATO – The St. Cloud Cathedral softball team capped its season with a third-place win at the state tournament over the weekend – the best the program has ever finished.
It was St. Cloud Post 76's first season playing American Legion softball, but it went undefeated in the state tournament and its athletes swept individual awards.
The Legislature authorized a name change in 1921 to St. Cloud State Teachers College. In 1957, the word "Teachers" was dropped. The first bachelor's degrees were awarded in 1925. Master's degree programs were first offered in 1953. [citation needed] In 1975, St. Cloud State became a university comprising five colleges and a graduate school. [10]
