Moosic (/ ˈ m uː z ɪ k / MOO-zik [5]) is a borough in Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania, United States, 3 miles (5 km) south of downtown Scranton and 10 miles (16 km) northeast of downtown Wilkes-Barre, on the Lackawanna River. Moosic is in a former coal-mining region.
Lackawanna County purchased the former First Church of Christ, Scientist in April 1985 for use as a library. [9] In August 1986, the Lackawanna County Library System received a grant through the Library Development Division of the Pennsylvania Department of Education to remodel the church into a space suitable for a library.
