  2. How to transfer Co2 from large tank to small tank

    www.homebrewtalk.com/threads/how-to-transfer-co2-from-large-tank-to-small-tank...

There are Co2 fillers that you can buy, they basically have two CGA-320 fittings, one that has a valve, and the other usually attached to a high pressure hose. With typical non-siphon tank, you would need to invert your larger tank to push liquid CO2 into the smaller tank, so having an upside down tank has its own challenges and safety issues.

    3. Location. Northern KY. Jul 25, 2009. #4. CO2 only has so much pressure depending on the temp. Around 800-900 is right for room temp. If you put it in the fridge, expect it to drop to around 600. If you blow a burst disk by letting the tank get too hot, you lose it at.

Put the little bottle on the scale. Tip the big bottle upside down. make a note of the weight. Open the valve on the little bottle, open the valve on the big bottle. Put 5 pounds of CO2 (by weight on the scale) into the little bottle. Close the valve on the little bottle, then the big bottle.

In theory, yes. But you'd be talking specialty metal braided hoses and fittings rated to something like 2000 psi, or whatever the CO2 tank blowoff is (I think it's around there). A better way would be to remove the regulator from the mini tank and adapt to standard ball lock fitting.

  8. How do I know if the CO2 tank is empty? - Homebrew Talk

    www.homebrewtalk.com/threads/how-do-i-know-if-the-co2-tank-is-empty.659736

Disconnect the tank, set it on your bathroom scale, and the difference between the weight of the tank and the empty weight is the amount of Co2, in pounds of liquid, remaining. Yeah, I know a bathroom scale isn't a lab grade instrument, but it will give you a better number than picking up the tank and guessing.

  9. Keezer question - CO2 tank inside or out? - Homebrew Talk

    www.homebrewtalk.com/threads/keezer-question-co2-tank-inside-or-out.77727

I'm not trying to be argumentative, but the high pressure gauge reading is virtually meaningless regardless of where the CO2 tank is. It will read EXACTLY the same, AT A GIVEN TEMP, until all of the liquid CO2 has been vaporized. If your gauge is reading close to zero when the tank is in the fridge then your gauge is faulty.

  10. Getting an expired CO2 tank refilled? - Homebrew Talk

    www.homebrewtalk.com/threads/getting-an-expired-co2-tank-refilled.27842

I've been offered a 20# CO2 tank for $15. The bad news is that it has been expired since 1996. I've found a company (Praxair) that will refill it for $22, but when I asked about them refilling my expired tank the guy danced around my question and never anwsered it. He said that they would...

  11. CO2 tank in Fridge: Pressure reading - Homebrew Talk

    www.homebrewtalk.com/threads/co2-tank-in-fridge-pressure-reading.173381

The pressure will stay the same, at a given temperature, until all the liquid has been vaporized. Once only vapor exists, the pressure in the tank will drop rapidly. The only way to know for sure how much liquid CO2 is left in the tank is to weigh the tank, and subtract the tare weight that's stamped on the side of the tank.
