  2. How much radiation can an LED flashlight stand?

    www.candlepowerforums.com/threads/how-much-radiation-can-an-led-flashlight...

My first reaction was "And they don't even have a couple of AAA EDC keychain lights with them!". But then I thought "There's probably so much radiation there, solid-state lights invented 30 years later would probably have failed, too." I don't know if their lamps were failing because of radiation or just for more ordinary failure reasons.

The scarf pin was likely the first flashlight circa 1894 but fueled by wet cell battery tech made it pretty impractical. Ohio Electric works sold flashing necktie pins and bicycle lights in 1895. In 1899 they had a portable pocket light, but the battery weighed 4 pounds!! It was the dry cell that paved the way for somebody to invent a shortened ...

If white LEDs have never been invented or are still in its infancy now, these CMH lamps would have been the hot threat for HPS. The CMH lamps with a CRI in the 70s-80s are the special ones such as the Philips CosmoPolis lamps.

  5. Is one LED better than a bunch of LEDs? - Candle Power Flashlight...

Short answer: Yes - at least in terms of lumens per watt. Way back in the mists of antiquity circa 2000 when "LED flashlight" was a novelty, one's choice in LED packages were generally limited to 3mm/5mm/10mm discrete through-hole mounted LEDs. If you wanted more light you needed more LEDs.

Here are the specifications one by one: The Throw must at least match the "Big Jim". Big Beam's Lights Use the same or more powerful sealed beam lamps depending on the model. The Model 266 and 666 likely exceed. The Ray-O-Vac Industrial 301K should be similar to the Dolphin as it uses the same KPR113 lamp.

    8. Aug 13, 2012. #1. I am having a hard time finding specific information about older SureFire weapon lights. Here are some things I am wondering about: When were knurled and non knurled L60 adapters used? When did they start selling the 660 and similar rifle/carbine lights?

  8. Knife Review: The Spyderco Tatanka folder (5" blade – VG-10)

    www.candlepowerforums.com/threads/knife-review-the-spyderco-tatanka-folder-5...

This new lock, the PowerLock, was actually invented by one of five brothers who work at the facility making Spyderco knives in Japan. The design was shown to Sal 5 or 6 years ago, but Spyderco, who already held a patent for a similar lock (the StopLock), were too busy at the time simply keeping up with demand so could not act on it at the time.

  9. PentagonLight L2 Review from a tactical use perspective

    www.candlepowerforums.com/threads/pentagonlight-l2-review-from-a-tactical-use...

Comparing the output, beam, and so on is difficult as the PL L2 is LED and the 6P/P60 is incandescent. Suffice it to say the 6P/P60 puts out somewhat more overall light with its less organized, broader hotspot. The PL L2 has a much tighter hotspot and more throw. The spill beams are similar in size and equally bright.

For anyone looking for a Malkoff M60 host with a clicky this is a great light! Even though it cannot tailstand I really like the large protruding switch for ease of use.I also like the small bezel window. If dropped I think the small window offers great protection for the M60 without adding another lens. The MD2 is slightly shorter than the G2 but it has a longer bezel and less gripping surface ...
