The Charles A. Weyerhaeuser and Musser Houses are historic houses in Little Falls, Minnesota that were the homes of Charles Augustus Weyerhaeuser (1866-1930) and Richard Drew Musser (1865-1958), founders of the Pine Tree Lumber Company, a business that played a major role in the growth of Little Falls, as it built a strong lumber industry within the town.
It was originally built for Sumner T. McKnight, a businessman who had interests in lumber and real estate. [2] McKnight sold it almost immediately to George R. The Dr. William W. Mayo House, located at 118 North Main Street in Le Sueur, Minnesota, United States, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). It was built in 1859 by James Mayo and his brother, William Worrall Mayo who emigrated from Salford, United Kingdom, to the United States in 1846 and became a doctor.
This area of Minneapolis was platted in 1882-83 as "Cottage City" by a local real estate developer, Louis F. Menage. He platted small 25 feet (7.6 m)-wide lots, as opposed to the normal lot width of 40 feet (12 m), in an effort to attract people who wanted to build summer lake cottages .
