Đồng Khởi Museum in Mỏ Cày Nam ward, Bến Tre Đồng Khởi (lit. ' Uprise Together ' or ' Together Uprising ') was a movement led by remnants of the Việt Minh that remained in South Vietnam and urged people to revolt against the United States and the Republic Of Vietnam, first of all in large rural areas in southern Vietnam and on highlands of South Central Coastal Vietnam.
Đông Du (Saigon: [ɗəwŋm ju], Hanoi: [ɗəwŋm zu], journey to the east; Japanese: 東遊) was a Vietnamese political movement founded by Phan Bội Châu at the start of the 20th century that encouraged young Vietnamese to go east to Japan to study, in the hope of training a new era of revolutionary independent activists to rise against French colonial rule. On February 8, 1961 he was awarded by the Prime Minister Pham Van Dong for his contribution to the country. [2] Streets are named after him in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Bac Giang, Da Nang, An Giang, Yen Bai and some other cities in Vietnam. [citation needed] A memorial monument to him was built in Song Khe hamlet, Song Khe commune, Bac Giang city.
Định was born from a peasant family in Bến Tre Province, and fought with the Viet Minh forces against the French. She was arrested and incarcerated by the French colonial authority between 1940–43, and helped lead an insurrection in Bến Tre in 1945, and again in 1960 (against the government of Ngô Đình Diệm).
