Farm to Market Road 949 (FM 949) is a state highway in the U.S. state of Texas.The two-lane highway starts at FM 102 northwest of Eagle Lake in Colorado County, heads in a northerly direction across Interstate 10, swings northeast through the small communities of Bernardo and Cat Spring and ends at State Highway 36 (SH 36) near Peters in Austin County.
Farm to Market Road 240 (FM 240) is located in DeWitt County. It runs from US 87 at Westhoff southward to SH 72 in Yorktown. FM 240 was designated on June 11, 1945, from SH 119 north of Yorktown northward 4.0 miles (6.4 km). On March 29, 1949, the road was extended north 0.8 miles (1.3 km) to Kubla Store.
A previous route numbered FM 2236 was designated on September 29, 1954, from FM 240 east 5.4 miles (8.7 km) to US 87 some 9 miles (14 km) northwest of Cuero. [72] This was cancelled on December 3, 1954 in exchange for extending FM 953. The route was restored as FM 2542 in 1958.
