One that I like is rearranging the Pokemon's name. It can result in some fun names, in my opinion. From my Leafgreen Nuzlocke: Dr. Zowee the Hypno (Drowzee), LED Wee the Beedrill (Weedle), Champo the Machop, Ask Negi the Seaking, 'OlWhipIRL the Poliwhirl, Oran Din the Nidoqueen (Nidoran) and my favorite, Hitmonlee, named: "I,TheLemon".
Matsa the Swampert ; I played oras and I wanted to called my mudkip billy for some reason but it was female so I came up with Matsa on the top of my head cos it sounded cool. I get pretty excited when it comes to creative nicknames for Pokémon and I thought I’d make a list of some good ones. It’s by no means complete and obviously some names can fit in multiple columns. Some are tougher names; some are cutesy. But I thought I’d share in case anyone’s looking for inspiration. Let me know what you think!
I have a long list of nicknames. Spookybooboo the Haunter is my favorite one that I've come up with. There's also, among others: 100%Cotton and FancyFloof the Altaria. FancyFloof is shiny to boot. Top Gear the Klink Goop and Gloop, the Grimer and Muk. Food Thief the Wingull Veronica the Jellicent Wilhelmina the Wailmer Edgelady the Aegislash.
I wanted to create this thread for us to share our favorite or funniest nicknames we've given to our Pokemon. I'll go first. In my latest playthrough of FireRed I named my Charizard "Stealthrocker" the name is too long so I abbreviated it but the name means the same. You can guess why I named him that, though Stealth Rock isn't in gen 3.
Adam, after Adam Savage of the Mythbusters. 1 because I think Swampert looks a bit like him, and 2 because Damp. If not Adam, then Stitch, which… should be obvious. Super late to the party but I just named my female mudkip Tuli, after Tule reed because I was trying to think of something marsh related.
When I was a kid, I never nicknamed my Pokémon. I thought it was “lame” and wanted to preserve the original names of the Pokémon on my team. Plus I just wasn’t creative and didn’t want to have to come up with names for every Pokémon I caught. Tbh I barely care about my Pokémon from that era now. This all changed when I decided to ...
For a while, I would always name my Zubat some form of Nicolas: Nic, Nick, Nicky, Nickles, etc. I always nickname my pokemons as coffees. I'm playing platinum atm, and my Crobat is called Doppio. I also have a shiny Crobat in moon that I named Frappé, and the one in emerald is called Latte.
