Xbox series X: HDMI Audio = Dolby Atmos Bitstream Format = Bitream Passthrough = Activated. The TV setting above are the same for all my HDMI ports and I have no lag issues with any inbuilt apps or any other external inputs, like my cable tv box. It is only with the Xbox and seems to be only with Dolby Atmos.
The only cable available is an HDMI so tried a convertor from ebay (component to HDMI) but the tv says no signal. I have tried the xbox using the component inputs and it works fine but was hoping to not have any cables visible - any suggestions appreciated
It appears the Xbox One S HDMI Female connector receptacle requires a longer HDMI cable plug to make full pin contact (or the cable I brought is not meeting the HDMI connector dimension spec). When I aligned the MS Xbox One S supplied cable with the above replacement cable side-by-side, the Xbox HDMI cable plug was about ~1mm longer.
Just trying to get people's opinions on enabling PC mode when using an Xbox Series X or PS5 with your 9 or X series LG OLED TV (HDMI 2.1). Vincent Teoh from HDTVTest states that PC Mode is what you want as it is the only way to get full RGB 444 chroma sub-sampling.
My 360 is one without HDMI on it so I cant compare the 2 but for me I prefer VGA over component as I think it does look better. My reasoning is that the res on my 32" TV is 1366x768 and the Xbox can do 1360x768 which is pretty much the same, as its outputting the Xbox is doing all the scaling etc and the TV outputs it without doing anything.
The XBox Series X was made to work flawlessly with Atmos and Dolby Vision and HDR 10+. The new PS5 does not. The 2.1 HDMI input however apparently isn't working with XBox new Series X and many AV Receivers. The problem is on the AV Receivers end and not on the Xbox End. Forbes article on the AV Receiver Bug
Yamaha RX-A4A HDMI 1 OUT is connected to LG C2 HDMI 2 (EARC) and XBOX Series X is connected to Yamaha RX-A4A HDMI 1 IN LG C2 has EARC enabled with Passthrough and Bitstream enabled for HDMI 2. Game Optimizer is also enabled. XBOX Series X is enabled for 4K (UHD) 120Hz, all 4K TV Details are ticked. Yamaha RX-A4A HDMI 1 is in 8K Mode.
All the current new xbox 360's have hdmi out so any of those would do to get a better image. The hdmi also allows 1080p which you can't get with your current component siginal. If your TV can only handle 1080i as your name suggests then there would be very minimal improvement and your probably best staying with what you have at the moment.
Xbox: any 2.0 source -> LCPM 7.1 (sound is only output on fronts unless manually overridden); any 5.1 source -> LCPM 7.1 (this should work ok, as long as the channels are properly mapped, though I hear there are also issues with the Xbox improperly mapping surround channels to rear channels); any 7.1 source -> LCPM 7.1 (once again, should ...
My setup is Xbox one x > LG 4k TV > Yamaha YAS-207 Soundbar. All via HDMI (with arc). My audio settings are: HDMI bitstream and optical bitstream, then DTS. This works fine when playing games and watching Sky on Sky app. However last night I was watching Angel Has Fallen (using the xbox as my blu ray player) and the sound kept dropping in and out.
