HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif., Jan. 17, 2024 – The all-new CBX 4 ZipCore Wedges from CLEVELAND GOLF® are designed to help golfers shake the dreaded chunk shot and get up and down with confidence, thanks to a modern cavity back design with a refreshed slate of performance technologies.
I have to say I have been a Cleveland wedge guy for years going from the old CG14’s with the controversial “zip grooves”, to the CBX, to the RTX4. Admittedly I learned I needed to replace wedges sooner than I used to. For me to give up my RTX4, I want the same performance (new grooves).
Posted August 4, 2020. Cleveland golf has stripped their flagship RTX wedge down to its core and rebuilt it from the inside out. According to Cleveland Golf: "The ZipCore is a low-density material at the heart of RTX. It’s an inside-to-out solution that’s elegant in form and function, with unprecedented results.
I needed a new gap wedge, so I asked for (and received) a 50* CBX wedge as a Christmas present from my wife and daughter. I had been carrying Cleveland 588 Rotex 2.0 wedges prior to that in 52, 56, and 60* lofts, but definitely had a gapping problem between the 52* and the pitching wedge in my set of Srixon Z 565 irons (bent to 46*).

Seems like a quality wedge and the non-glossy finish is really nice. But I would love to hear some actual feedback from others on this wedge, not much info out there. Driver: Mizuno ST200 10.5 w/ Nippon Regio Formula MB+ 65X (backup is a Wishon 919 F/D mini driver w/ UST V2 Black 6F5) Fairway Wood: Callaway X2 Hot Pro 18.5* w/ UST V2 Black 7F5.
Cleveland as a brand has a long history and has made some fantastic clubs over the years. The older 588 wedges were my go-to wedges for a long time. However as time has passed I feel they have also fallen into the Tour Edge like category in some respects. Whether that is deserved or not I am not sure.

having gamed the RTX3.0 for over a year now I'm a true believer in the wedge tech that Cleveland offers. I'm assuming a CBX 50 wedge would be really helpful with full swings. My accuracy issues could benefit from the added forgiveness people talk about.
First glance of the Cleveland RTX Zipcore 46° wedge brought back some memories of days gone by. This wedge is a classic looking, albeit with a smidge of tech with the little protruding weight at the top of the toe. A shiny satin finish adds to that classic look a lot of golfers are looking for.
