Christ's order of priesthood does not specifically forbid Him from drinking wine. Christ was born to be "king of kings" (1 Tim 6:15; Rev 17:14), so he was to be wise in ruling. Christ was born to be obedient to God the Father (Jn 5:30), and fulfilled the Law (Mt 5:17) in obedience to God (Rom 5:19).
He did not lie because Matthew 26:29 reports that Jesus promised He would “. . . drink it new with you in my Father’s kingdom.”. Notice the italics that we added. He was referring to speaking with His disciples in the kingdom and not simply drinking from the fruit the vine— oxos or oinos. Jesus did not drink with the disciples on the cross.
Jesus informed the disciples that the wine he had drunk (at this Passover preceding the Lord's Supper) was the last of the product of the vine that he would drink “until that day when I drink it new with you in the kingdom of my Father.” (Matthew 26:29) Since he would not be drinking literal wine in heaven, he obviously had reference to ...

Jesus, however, did not say their companionable drinking of this wine would be located on earth – the earthly kingdom of God, if you will. He is speaking of heaven because He knew, at the time he spoke verse 29, that he would be returning to his Father in heaven on the 40th day. That is why he said to Mary Magdalene on the 3rd day that he had ...
1 Tim 5:23, This instruction of Paul’s to use a little wine rather than water for the sake of Timothy’s frequent stomach complaints has caused much debate. We note the following facts: The water in the places where Timothy worked was often unsafe to drink; unfermented grape juice has considerable therapeutic value; lightly fermented wine ...

The Kingdom of God found its cruciform consummation in the final words "It is finished." Jesus took the cup, that was not mixed with gall or myrrh, as a sacrificial gift from those down below. In Greek tradition, wine libations (wine mixed with honey) were offered to Zeus. Jesus out of humility took common "sour" wine to drink at the cross.
The Scripture infers that the wedding guests “have well drunk” a large amount of supposedly intoxicating wine, and then Jesus would have made better and more intoxicating wine amounting to between 120 to 180 gallons of “the good wine”. If there were 300 people there to drink an additional 150 gallons, these would have already each had ...
