Petroleum Training Institute (PTI) is located in Effurun, Delta State, Nigeria.It was established in 1973 by the federal government of Nigeria [1] as a prerequisite for the membership in the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries to train indigenous middle-level manpower to meet the labour force demands of the oil and gas industry in Nigeria and the West African subregion.
The National Universities Commission [5] (NUC) approved sharing of facilities between the Petroleum Training Institute (PTI), Effurun and Federal University of Petroleum Resources Effurun until it moved to its permanent site on development of its main campus at Ugbomro, Uvwie Local Government Area [6] Delta State, in 2010.
