Gotham was used as the main font of Roblox since February 2019, formerly using Source Sans Pro. Since 2022, Gotham began being used on the Roblox logo, as well as on some title pages. Since April 2024, the font has been replaced by Builder Sans, a font created by Roblox. It is also able to be used as a font within Roblox Studio.
Costello created the font in 1982, when he was 23 years old and just out of college. He had been studying the Bible and came onto the idea of what a written font would have looked like in biblical times in the Middle East. [1] He hand-drew the font over a period of six months by means of calligraphy pen and textured paper.
Certain versions of the font's copyright string include attribution to Type Solutions, Inc., the maker of a tool used to hint the font. The Free UCS Outline Fonts [1] (also known as freefont) is a font collection project. The project was started by Primož Peterlin and is currently administered by Steve White. The aim of this project has been to produce a package of fonts by collecting existing free fonts and special donations, to support as many Unicode characters as possible.
