Empire! Empire! (I Was a Lonely Estate) was an American emo [1] [2] band from Michigan. It was formed in 2006 originally as a solo project of band member Keith Latinen. The band's music is most often described as emotional indie rock reminiscent of '90s emo bands such as Mineral and American Football.
For the first season, the group's debut album, Empire: Original Soundtrack from Season 1, was released by Columbia Records on March 10, 2015, The soundtrack received positive critical reception and debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart in the United States, 110,000 copies in the first week.
The band recorded their first album Hypnotica in 2001. In 2003, Munkes published another album, with the addition of ex-Black Sabbath singer Tony Martin on vocals and keyboardist Don Airey.
