Medical City Denton, (formerly Denton Regional Medical Center) or Denton Regional, is a hospital operated by Hospital Corporation of America and is located at 3535 South Interstate 35, southeast of downtown Denton, Texas. It houses 208 beds, and employs more than 850 employees and 300 physicians.
The hospital was originally opened in 1975. [2] In 2017, the hospital was designated as a Level I trauma center. [3] The hospital completed a $107 million, 138,000-square-foot expansion in October 2019, adding a new burn center, trauma center, oncology center, operating rooms, and 90 patient beds.
A second phase of construction commenced in 1977 with the addition to the hospital called Medical City II, enabling the doubling of the physician-tenant population through a second patient tower and two physician office buildings east of the original hospital. The first physician office phase opened as the four-story Building B in 1979.
