Swartswood Lake is the third-largest freshwater lake in New Jersey. According to the United States Census Bureau, the township had a total area of 28.25 square miles (73.17 km 2), including 26.92 square miles (69.73 km 2) of land and 1.33 square miles (3.43 km 2) of water (4.69%).
