The Trafalgar St. James London, Curio Collection by Hilton is a contemporary boutique hotel located on the south side of Trafalgar Square in the City of Westminster, Central London, owned by London & Regional Properties. Opened as The Trafalgar London in 2001, [2] the hotel was Hilton's first unbranded property. [3]
Designed by the architect Walter Emden, it opened on 10 September 1892 as the Trafalgar Square Theatre, and was renamed Trafalgar Theatre in 1894. The following year, it became the Duke of York's to honour the future King George V. [1] The theatre's opening show was comic opera The Wedding Eve by Frédéric Toulmouche.
The displays in the bars include theatre posters, Dr Watson's old service revolver, political cartoons and the stuffed and mounted head of the Hound of the Baskervilles.
