Wye River is a town in Victoria, Australia.It is also the name given to the waterway which flows through the town and into the sea. Situated 155 km to the west of Melbourne, on the Otway Coast, part of the scenic Great Ocean Road, the Wye River township is located about 15 km west of the resort town Lorne, Victoria.
The Wye River rises in the Otway Ranges in southwest Victoria and flows generally east towards the town of Wye River where the river reaches its mouth and empties into Bass Strait, north of Cape Otway. From its highest point, the river descends 601 metres (1,972 ft) over its 11-kilometre (6.8 mi) course. [3]
