The following is a list of public school districts in Connecticut. The majority of school districts are dependent on town and municipal governments. The U.S. Census Bureau counts the regional school districts, which are governed by independent school boards and cover at least two towns, as individual governments. [1]

The following is a list of the currently functioning elementary and middle schools run by the Archdiocese of Hartford. The list is sortable: for example, to see the schools listed alphabetically by town, click on the box at the top of the "Town" column.
The Saint Mary of Czestochowa School, at 87 South Main Street, is a K-8 elementary school with pre-school [6] founded in 1912. The current building was constructed in 1930 [ 7 ] It was listed in an inventory of buildings of Middletown by the Greater Middletown Preservation Trust in 1979. [ 8 ]
The Ethel Walker School, The Master's School, St. Mary's School, and Westminster School are private schools in Simsbury. The International Skating Center of Connecticut is in Simsbury. Three of the four state parks in Hartford County, Penwood State Park, Stratton Brook State Park, and Talcott Mountain State Park, are in Simsbury.
J. M. Wright Technical High School, located just south of Scalzi Park, is a public vocational school run by the State of Connecticut through the Connecticut Technical High School System. Facing declining enrollment, the school closed after the 2008–2009 school year, but was reopened for the 2014–2015 school year. [ 48 ]
In November 2019 the board of education removed a plan to have the schools start at a later start time. The claim is that later start times for high school students is more beneficial for their mental and physical health. The cost of transportation would exceed $2 million if high school and middle school started at 8:15. [9]
