Iron County is a county located in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. As of the 2020 census , the population was 6,137, [ 1 ] making it the third-least populous county in Wisconsin. Its county seat is Hurley . [ 2 ]

The Iron County Courthouse is a government building located at the west end of Superior Avenue in Crystal Falls, Michigan. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975 [ 1 ] and designated a Michigan State Historic Site in 1974.
The building was constructed in 1892–1893 as the town hall for the former town of Vaughn, which was then in Ashland County. [2] [3] Before its completion, the majority of the building was leased to the newly formed Iron County, and although under the lease terms the "court room" space was to be used primarily for meetings of the town council, it quickly became the county courthouse.
