Johannes Vermeer, The Milkmaid (1658–1661). Dutch Golden Age painting is the painting of the Dutch Golden Age, a period in Dutch history roughly spanning the 17th century, [1] during and after the later part of the Eighty Years' War (1568–1648) for Dutch independence.
[3] [10] He also influenced Anton Maria Vassallo (c1640-60). [11] Among those who engraved after him were Giovanni Lorenzo Bertolotto in Genoa, [12] the Venetian Anton Maria Zanetti, Michele l'Asne, Louis de Chatillon, and Coreneille Coemans. [13] His paintings are to be found in Rome, Venice, Naples, Florence, and more especially Genoa and Mantua.
Ambrosius Bosschaert the Elder (18 January 1573 – 1621) was a Flemish-born Dutch still life painter and art dealer. [1] He is recognised as one of the earliest painters who created floral still lifes as an independent genre. [2]
