Kay Floyd and Freckles Madera at the Harris Ranch cutting in 1988.. Kay Floyd (1948 – August 17, 2015) was an American horse breeder who was the first woman ever to win two NCHA Futurity championships, albeit in the Non-Pro division (1976 and 1987).
In his show career, he earned a Performance Register of Merit and a Superior Cutting Horse award from the AQHA. [4] With the National Cutting Horse Association (or NCHA) he earned $24,003.19 in cutting competition, entitling him to a NCHA Certificate of Ability, and Bronze and Silver awards.

Marion's Girl (1948 bay mare, AQHA #0027822) was a Quarter Horse mare owned by West Texas cattle rancher Marion Flynt, and trained for cutting horse competition by Buster Welch. [1] She was the 1954 and 1956 NCHA World Champion Cutting Horse shown by Welch. [2] She was inducted into the NCHA Horse Hall of Fame in 1962. [3]
