Toru Terasawa (寺沢 徹, Terasawa Tōru, born January 4, 1935) is a former Japanese long-distance runner who on February 17, 1963 set a world record in the marathon with a time of 2:15:16 at the Beppu Marathon. Terasawa placed second in the marathon at the 1964 Japanese Olympic trials [1] and 15th at the 1964 Summer Olympics. [2]

The 2015 IAAF Road Race Label Events were the eighth edition of the global series of road running competitions given Label status by the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF). All six World Marathon Majors had Gold Label status.
From the World Marathon Majors, the Tokyo Marathon was cancelled for amateur runners and was held only as an elite event on the scheduled date on 1 March. [1] The Boston Marathon, scheduled to be held on 20 April, was postponed to 14 September, while the London Marathon scheduled for 26 April was rescheduled to 4 October. [2]
On 4 December 2022, Teferi won the Fukuoka International Marathon in Japan, with a time of 2:06:43. [15] It was a new Israeli record. [20] On 27 August 2023, at the 2023 World Athletics Championships in Budapest, Teferi won the silver medal in the Men's Marathon with a time of 2:09:12. [21]
