Viktor Fedorovych Yanukovych [b] (born 9 July 1950) is an ex-Ukrainian and Russian politician who served as the fourth president of Ukraine from 2010 to 2014. [4] He also served as the prime minister of Ukraine several times between 2002 and 2007 and was a member of the Verkhovna Rada (parliament) from 2006 to 2010.
After the 2014 Ukrainian revolution, Viktor Yanukovych abandoned the office and fled the country. He was subsequently impeached and temporarily replaced by Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Oleksandr Turchynov; the chairman serves as acting president when the office is vacant.
