Conneaut (/ ˈ k ɒ n i ɔː t / [4] KON-ee-awt) is the northeastern most city in Ashtabula County, Ohio, United States, as well as the entire state as a whole.Located in the Cleveland metropolitan area, it is settled along Lake Erie at the mouth of Conneaut Creek 66 miles (106 km) northeast of Cleveland.
The residential communities around the lake are part of the Conneaut Lakeshore census-designated place. According to the United States Census Bureau , the township has a total area of 26.0 square miles (67.4 km 2 ), of which 25.8 square miles (66.9 km 2 ) is land and 0.2 square miles (0.5 km 2 ), or 0.81%, is water.
