Finest City Improv started in September 2012 when the company joined the Ocean Beach Playhouse to offer Improv Classes. [2] They then moved to the Lafayette Hotel and had their grand opening on December 6, 2013. They now host weekly shows, offer classes for adults, and bring improv comedy into business to teach team building. [3] [4]
The original iteration of Unexpected Company was founded by Tim Hillman in 1986 based on his desire to explore comedic improvisational theatre outside the boundaries of short-form improvisation. Hillman was formerly a director and teacher at the LA Connection in Sherman Oaks, California , where he trained under Kent Skov.
