Highgate Manor is a manor located on Vermont Route 207 in Highgate, Vermont. [1] It has been used as a home, as a bed and breakfast, and as a dance hall. Local legend says that the children of a doctor who once owned the house and performed experiments on them have remained in the house since they died.
Trenor Park purchased the land the house sits on in North Bennington, Vermont from his father-in-law, Hiland Hall. The “Big House” was under construction from 1864 to 1865, on a property of almost 200 acres (0.81 km 2), and was designed by New York architectural firm Diaper and Dudley. The house was built in the Second Empire style.
