    I hate to be the one to say that this research is wrong, but the reason Wegener's Granulomatosis is hard to diagnose is that not all severe cases (I know at least two or three in the Yahoo WG discussion group) are either C-ANCA or P-ANCA positive. And, WG patients can be P-ANCA positive, which is usually a diagnosis of PAN.
