Ibanez (アイバニーズ, Aibanīzu) is a Japanese guitar brand owned by Hoshino Gakki. [1] Based in Nagoya, Aichi, Japan, Hoshino Gakki were one of the first Japanese musical instrument companies to gain a significant foothold in import guitar sales in the United States and Europe, as well as the first brand of guitars to mass-produce seven-string and eight-string guitars.

Tosin Abasi (born 1983) guitarist who formed the instrumental progressive metal band Animals as Leaders, has had a signature guitar created for him by Ibanez that's branded as the Tosin Abasi Ibanez guitar. Just before or just after the Second World War, the Japanese firm Hoshino Gakki began production of its own acoustic guitars for the home market. Although it did not have a business relationship with either Ibáñez or Julve, Hoshino Gakki marketed their acoustic guitars first under the brand name "Ibanez Salvador" and later simply as "Ibanez".
The Ibanez SZ is a modern 6-string electric guitar made by Ibanez, and is an offshoot of the Ibanez S family. Like the S, the SZ features a mahogany body. The SZ has a 25.1" scale. All SZ are hardtail. One of the best known SZ players is former Megadeth guitarist Marty Friedman.
