Salati's educational background began with his studies in Illustration at the Rochester Institute of Technology, where he also had a notable career as a collegiate swimmer. After completing his undergraduate studies, Salati pursued a Master of Fine Arts degree in Illustration as Visual Essay at the School of Visual Arts in New York City.
Storey has taught illustration since the 1970s and currently lives in San Francisco, California [1] [2] and is on the faculty at San Jose State University. He trained at Art Center in Los Angeles and under Robert Weaver at the School of Visual Arts in New York.
In 1999 she enrolled in the School of Visual Arts. [2] After finishing her sophomore year, she was accepted into the MFA Illustration as Visual Essay program. Under Marshall Arisman she created a personal alphabet book project called Letters of Desire as part of her graduate studies. [8]
She graduated from the School of Visual Arts with a BFA in 1984, [4] where she was taught by Paula Scher. [5] She joined the faculty at School of Visual Arts MFA, undergraduate, and high school design programs, and has served on the advisory boards for Adobe Partners by Design and the Society of Publication Designers.
The NIU Art Museum originated in the NIU School of Art during the 1960s as an exhibition center curated by the faculty. In 1970, Gallery 200 was established as a permanent exhibition space within the newly constructed art building. In 1979, the Art Gallery moved to larger quarters in Swen Parson Hall and began to acquire a permanent collection.
Quesada majored in illustration at the School of Visual Arts, [6] from which he graduated with a BFA in 1984. [8] Though he had drifted away from comics, having come to think of them as a child's medium, his interest in them was renewed at age 25 when a friend who learned of his interest in art showed him Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns. [6]
