Barton Springs Pool is a recreational outdoor swimming pool in Austin, Texas, that is filled entirely by natural springs connected to the Edwards Aquifer. Located in Zilker Park , the pool exists within the channel of Barton Creek and uses water from Main Barton Spring , the fourth-largest spring in Texas.
In 1995, NRH2O opened as the first city-owned water park in Texas. At the time, the park had three water slides, a river, and a swimming pool. [3] The park added "dive in" movies that guests could watch while at the park. [4] In 2004, a 12 year-old girl died after collapsing at the water park.

Hamilton Pool is a natural pool that was created when the dome of an underground river collapsed due to massive erosion thousands of years ago. The pool is located about 23 miles (37 km) west of Austin, Texas off Highway 71. Since the 1960s, Hamilton Pool has been a popular summer swimming spot for Austin visitors and residents.
