Haas Automation, Inc is an American machine tool builder headquartered in Oxnard, California.The company designs and manufactures lower cost machine tools and specialized accessory tooling, mostly computer numerically controlled (CNC) equipment, such as vertical machining centers and horizontal machining centers, lathes/turning centers, and rotary tables and indexers.

CAM software automates the process of converting 3D models into tool paths, the route the multiaxis machine takes to mill a part (Fig. 1). This software takes into account the different parameters of the tool head (in the case of a CNC router, this would be the bit size), dimensions of the blank, and any constraints the machine may have.
Motion is controlling multiple axes, normally at least two (X and Y), [4] and a tool spindle that moves in the Z (depth). The position of the tool is driven by direct-drive stepper motors or servo motors to provide highly accurate movements, or in older designs, motors through a series of step-down gears.

He also has a presence in motorsports, having founded NASCAR teams Stewart-Haas Racing and Haas Factory Team, as well as the Formula One team, Haas F1 Team.
Zygmunt J. Haas is a professor and distinguished chair in computer science, University of Texas at Dallas (UTD) also the professor emeritus in electrical and computer engineering, Cornell University. His research interests include ad hoc networks, [ 1 ] wireless networks , [ 2 ] sensor networks , [ 3 ] and zone routing protocols.
